Fernanda Monsalve - Graphic Designer
Hello, my name is Fernanda Monsalve. I am a junior Graphic Designer pursuing a BFA at the University of Utah. I have recently professionally joined the field through work and internships. I mainly focus on digital work but I am also exploring physical mediums such as sculpture and painting.
I was born in Lima, Peru and grew up there for a majority of my life. Being from a different culture than that of the place I live in now has allowed me to have a different perspective of the world. My experiences have shaped my art and process. I enjoy trying out new mediums and exploring new ideas. Art is something that runs in my family, and while it may have had an effect on what I do today, I also believe I have something new and different to offer the world.
Graphic Design came to me a bit later in life than other mediums, but I definitely felt more drawn to it than any others. It was during High School that I decided to pursue it when I got to college. I took a class in the meantime and got my CTE or "Career and Technical Education" certificate for Commercial Art. Now that I am in college, I am thoroughly enjoying the learning and hands–on experience I am getting. I'm looking forward to my future in the field but also my art career in general!
