Crafted in Script

Vastra Visions is a visual identity for a fiber arts festival in Mumbai, India, that celebrates the intersection of tradition and modern design. Inspired by the meaning of Vastra—“cloth”—the system uses bold patterns, circular motifs, and layered typography to weave together culture, craft, and contemporary expression.

Spinning Stories

The identity draws from the Balbodh style of Devanagari, the script of Mumbai’s local language, Marathi. Rooted in the meaning of Vastra—“cloth”—the system weaves bold geometric forms and cultural motifs into a modern expression of craft, community, and creativity.
